The Guest House at Northern Exposure was started by Sue LeCalsey back in
2003. We've have made quite a few new friends from meeting new Guests
from all over the US. We have rented our furnished Guest house for as short
a period as 2 weeks and up to one year for several families, including a
family moving here from the West coast. They stayed with us while they built
a new home. The Bender's have become our very dear friends.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on August 27th, 2008. I then had a
Lumpectomy involving 2 surgeries. And then Mammosite High Dose
Radiation Treatments. To date I am cancer free. But having regular
Mammograms saved my life. Dr. Colette Salm-Schmid was my Breast
Surgeon and is the most qualified Breast surgeon in the State of Wisconsin.
She is a life saver! I recommended her to a friend of mine that was told she
needed to have a double mastectomy but Dr. Colette was able to spare both
her breast from being removed. I have all the confidence in the world with
her and I'm sure you will too. So I am now opening this extension of our
home, to women going through this scary ordeal. I hope that by being able
to stay here during surgery and treatment, they will enjoy the peace and
relaxation they will find here on our property, and in some small way make
this process a little more bearable.
